Ezekiel 3:27b

. . . ‘This is what the Sovereign LORD says!’ Those who choose to listen will listen, but those who refuse will refuse, for they are rebels."

 

Psalm 32

8 The Lord says, “I will guide you along the best pathway for your life.
      I will advise you and watch over you.
 9 Do not be like a senseless horse or mule
      that needs a bit and bridle to keep it under control.”

 

Simple rules for life are as follows:

--- Trust the LORD with your choices and decisions.  HE will show you the best path to walk ---

Nothing hard about that, right?  Then enters the human free will.  We have the ability to make choices.  Sometimes we choose well, and, well . . . sometimes we don't.

But here is the good news.  Even in those times the LORD JESUS watches over us.  HE is the one described in the New Testament as the Lost Sheep Finder!  HE will leave the rest of the flock safe and pursue the one who is struggling.

The problem for us is that we do not like it when HE places the bit in our mouths and tugs us back on the path.  This can be painful to our fallen-nature side and the more we resist, the more the pain.

So, let us not be so mule-like and let us cooperate as much as we can with the SPIRIT'S loving direction!
