Psalm 32

 4 Day and night YOUR hand of discipline was heavy on me.
      My strength evaporated like water in the summer heat.
                         Interlude

 

The Psalms were originally set to music.  So the verse above was a verse to a popular song of the day.  Have you ever felt like singing, " . . . Day and night your hand of discipline was heavy on me.  My strength evaporated like the water in the summer heat?"   

Interlude means "brief pause."  There used to be a saying that said, "Stop the world, I want to get off . . ."  Ever feel like that?  Ever feel like an Interlude (brief pause) would be just fine?

If you are under HIS Hand of Discipline right now, I would like to encourage you.  HIS discipline is the greatest evidence of HIS Fatherly Love we have today in this earth!

Proverbs 3:12
because the LORD disciplines those he loves, as a father the son he delights in.

And here is a great reason not to hate HIS discipline . . . .

Proverbs 1:7
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and discipline.

Face facts.  If you are loved by the LORD and you want to grow with HIM, you are going to experience HIS discipline.  That is where the word disciple comes from.
