The Lord’s Promise of Mercy

Matthew 9:27

As JESUS went on from there, two blind men followed HIM, calling out, "Have mercy on us, Son of David!"

Mercy is compassion or relief given to an undeserving recipient

You know, it is amazing that we receive mercy.  We don't deserve it . . . .  Wait, that is the key.  If we deserved mercy, then we wouldn't need mercy.  See our working definition above.  Mercy is only mercy when given to an undeserving recipient!

So, I guess it is not so amazing that we receive mercy.  We need it, we don't deserve it, but we get it because of the Greatness of the one who is giving it!

JESUS took time to heal the blind and deaf, the lame and the infirmed.  And me.  And you!  HE is so amazing!  HE could have walked right on by us, but HE stopped and gave us what we need . . . . .Mercy.  And HE still will if you ask.

And will you give that same mercy to others when they need it?  Can we be like JESUS in this?  Well, we can do our best.  Yes?  Yes!
